beginner class

One of our most popular classes is back again! Have you ever wanted to learn to quilt but didn’t quite know where to start? Don’t want to invest in all the tools until you’re sure you like it? Are you “self-taught” and think maybe you weren’t the best teacher? That’s where we come in. This class is designed to teach you all the basics of quilting from using a rotary cutter to sewing on the last stitch of your binding. You’ll learn how to pick fabric, what a scant 1/4″ seam is, how to use those rulers, mats and rotary cutters, how to press  –  not iron!…and so much more! You’ll finish the class with a 40″-square wallhanging that encompasses lots of techniques. We provide everything except your personalized choice of fabric and a box of quilting pins. You may use our sewing machines, mats, rulers and rotary cutters as you explore the wonderful world of quilting! This class meets for 5 three-hour sessions on Tuesdays from 9 til noon on September 22, 29, October 6, 13, and 20. The cost is only $125 for all five sessions. Space is very limited so call to sign up today!

We’ll walk you through the steps, give you the secret formula and a great handout to keep.  The cost is only $10. Call to register!

Bindings – (Date and time TBA)

Now that you’ve signed up for the mitered border class, it’s time to tackle those pesky bindings. Just like there’s more than one way to skin a cat, there’s more than one way to bind a quilt! Prairie points, two color, single, double, bias, scalloped…just to name a few. This will be an instructional, no-sewing-required class. Be sure to sign up. Before you know it you’ll be volunteering to sew the binding on everyone’s quilt!

Mystery Quilt – (Date and time…still a mystery!)
